In this highly dynamic education environment, today’s district CIOs need be both nimble and adaptive. Nimble to address changing expectations from leadership and stakeholders about the role of technology within learning (i.e., cell phones and social media); adaptive to understanding how to effectively evaluate and implement new products and services to meet their district vision for learning in 2025 (i.e., AI and data privacy). In this session, Dr. Julie Evans from Project Tomorrow will share a curated set of the latest Speak Up Research results to provide district CIOs and other leaders with key insider information on the most important developments that are shaping the future of ed tech and the role of the CIO. These developments include new definitions of digital access, the disconnects around efficacy in tech usage by teachers and students and changing expectations for teacher capacity with technology. Understanding that these emerging trends will have a sustainable impact on the role of the CIO and the district tech teams each session participant will receive access to three leadership reports and recommendations for how to leverage this information to impact district plans for 2025-26.
