Mary Jane Warden is the Chief Technology Officer for Palatine Community Consolidated School District 15 in Illinois. As a CETL certified educational technology leader, she currently leads a technology department serving a diverse suburban district with 11,600+ students and about 2100 staff members, northwest of Chicago. MJ also serves as a board member of their local CoSN chapter, the Illinois Education Technology Leaders (IETL) organization, and produces the IETL Podcast along with her colleague Tony Schlorff (president of IETL).
MJ has been in education for 30 years, serving as a classroom teacher, professional developer, edtech trainer, and district-level administrator in Illinois. MJ has led initiatives in developing instructionally “better” practices and building vibrant digital learning ecosystems supporting 1:1 digital learning environments including Google Workspace for Education (since 2005), learning management systems, data dashboard platforms, and student information systems. She has presented at local and national conferences over her career in education. Her passion has been for students (and educators!) to discover their voice and express their most creative and productive selves to contribute positively to a global society.
