Gerardo Martinez is the Executive Director of Educational Technology for Westminster School District. He bridges the intersection between content, pedagogy, technology, Artificial Intelligence, and the learning environment. As a design thinker and education leader in Generative Artificial Intelligence implementation, he creates conditions for innovation to give teachers a process for leveraging AI to design learning experiences for active engagement. His team looks for ways to inspire teachers with AI and create human connections. His primary focus is to address learning first and collaborates with two educational technology coaches and AI to respond to district initiatives and unpacks differentiation with a dose of human intelligence and artificial intelligence. He shares the journey we are all in with AI and considers his innovative group of teachers as a part of a prototyping group in an iterative process to codify lessons learned. He has 19 years of classroom experience in Math, Science, Literacy, Technology, CTE, adult education, professional learning, and online learning. He also has 11 years of leadership experience as a coordinator, director, and learning spaces consultant. Gerardo Martinez holds a Bachelor of Architecture, multiple and single subject teaching credentials, and a Master’s in Instructional Leadership and administrative credentials.
