Dr. Tony Harvey is the Chief Technology Officer for the Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township in Indiana, where he leads enterprise-wide technology strategy, cybersecurity initiatives, and IT governance. Since assuming the role in 2022, he has driven innovative digital transformation efforts across the district’s ecosystem. A seasoned expert in Secure Enterprise Architecture, Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, and Data Management, Dr. Harvey brings over 26 years of experience in network infrastructure and information security across both public and private sectors.
Before joining MSD of Wayne Township, Dr. Harvey served as Chief Information Officer for Muncie Community Schools for six years. His career also includes a decade with ITT Technical Institute as LEAD IS and IT Administrator, where he managed systems security and integration. Earlier in his career, he spent six years at Crown Agents, a UK-based agency focused on international development, where he served as a Business Development Executive overseeing donor fund disbursements to small-to-medium enterprises in Africa.
Dr. Harvey holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology, a Master’s degree in Information Technology, an MBA, and a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Security. His pursuit of an applied doctorate was inspired by the evolving challenges of cybersecurity and cloud integration in K–12 education. A passionate advocate for knowledge-sharing, Dr. Harvey is deeply committed to mentoring peers and advancing the field of educational technology.
Dr. Harvey is a devoted family man with a loving wife and two children. “My family means everything to me, and they are the reason why I strive to excel—so I can be a role model to them,” he says.
