Allison Reid, an accomplished educator and CETL-certified technology leader, holds a Master of Education (MEd) in Instructional Technology from NC State University. As Senior Director for the Digital Learning & Libraries team within Wake County Public School System (WCPSS), she leads efforts to integrate cutting-edge digital tools and artificial intelligence into K-12 education, prioritizing accessibility, equity, and ethical practices.
With a remarkable track record, Allison has earned accolades such as the District 2014-15 Teacher of the Year, the 2019 CoSN NextGen Emerging EdTech Leader award, and the 2022 Ed Tech All-Star Award. She serves on the CoSN Driving K-12 Innovation Advisory Board and contributes to global initiatives like the CoSN Digital Equity Toolkit. Previously, Allison served as Interim Chief Technology Officer for WCPSS, leading transformative efforts to enhance educational experiences.
In 2025, Allison was named an EDSAFE Women in AI Fellow, a year-long program supporting leaders exploring AI's role in education. Fellows collaborate with experts in AI safety, ethics, and policy while reimagining education as an AI-enabled learning system.
Allison also consults with district leaders nationwide, developing AI policies aligned with equity and strategic goals. Blending her background as an English and Theatre teacher with her expertise as a technologist, she bridges the gap between academic and technical languages. Her work inspires systemic change and ensures technology serves as a tool for student success.
