Josh Olstad, CETL, is the IT Director for the Oyster River Cooperative School District in Durham, New Hampshire. With nearly two decades in K-12 educational technology, Josh has been a key player in integrating and advancing technology in education.
In 2012, he earned a Master of Science in Computer Technology in Education, enhancing his ability to leverage technology for better educational outcomes. Josh is also a founding member and past President of the NH CTO Council, the New Hampshire chapter of CoSN.
One of Josh's notable achievements is his instrumental role in establishing the New Hampshire Student Data Privacy Alliance. This initiative has been pivotal in protecting the data of over 80% of students in the state through comprehensive data privacy agreements. His dedication to safeguarding student information reflects his commitment to creating a secure and trustworthy digital environment for learners.
In August 2023, Josh was invited to the Back to School Safely: Cybersecurity for K-12 Schools event hosted by First Lady Jill Biden at the White House. This event highlighted his expertise and dedication to improving data privacy and cybersecurity in K-12 schools.
Currently, Josh serves as the co-chair of the North American Leadership Group for the Access 4 Learning (A4L) Community, where he collaborates with other leaders to promote the effective use of data and technology in education.
Most importantly, Joshua is husband to Nicole and father to Olivia, Danielle, Charlotte, and Clara. Time spent with family over dinner and outdoor activities with his girls are some of his favorite ways to relax.
